On Tuesday night, the No. 20 Lady Vols picked up another victory to improve to 6-0 on the season. But the main focus wasn’t on the game on the court.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff received devastating news on Monday when they found out freshman walk-on Sierra’Li Wade had been shot and killed in her hometown of Lake Village, Arkansas on Monday afternoon. The team elected to still play Tuesday night’s game despite the tragedy, and Tennessee did all they could to help with the situation before the game.
After the game, Lady Vol head coach Kellie Harper and some of her players spoke with the media about the tragedy, what they did to help, and the victory as well.
