Video: Barnes, Vol Players Discuss Ugly Win vs. Chattanooga

Sometimes, the shots just won’t fall your way. That happened for the Vols on Monday night, but luckily for UT, their defense stood stout and helped them get an ugly win over Chattanooga to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Tennessee shot less than 40 percent from the floor, but they held Chattanooga to under 50 points and came away with a 58-46 win over the Mocs, avenging their 82-69 loss to Chattanooga the last time these two teams met in 2016.

The Vols were led by Lamonte Turner’s 17 points and 12 assists, marking the first time he’s recorded a double-double as a Vol. Fellow senior guard Jordan Bowden also got his first career double-double, totaling 13 points and 12 rebounds. Junior forward John Fulkerson had 14 second half points.

After the game, head coach Rick Barnes discussed his team’s poor shooting, John Fulkerson’s improved play from last year, and he shed some light on Zach Kent’s situation.

Here’s everything Barnes had to say after the game:

Three Vol players also met with the local media after the game. Senior guards Lamonte Turner and Jordan Bowden talked about the game as did junior forward John Fulkerson:
