Given the fact that Aubrey Solomon was knocked out of the game early in the first quarter, Tennessee’s defensive line did a great job facing a good Missouri offensive line. The defensive line didn’t put up a bunch of gaudy numbers, but they were key in limiting the Tigers to under 100 rushing yards and did a good job generating some pass rush and moving Kelly Bryant out of the pocket. Matthew Butler played well, and both Kurott Garland and LaTrell Bumphus ended up with tackles for loss.

Tennessee’s defensive line played an integral part in holding Missouri to just 99 rushing yards and forcing their offense into four three-and-outs. Even without Aubrey Solomon, who left the game due to injury in the first quarter, Tracy Rocker’s unit was disruptive. Matthew Butler had four tackles and a pass breakup, while Kurott Garland and LaTrell Bumphus each recorded a tackle for a loss.
