Nathanael: A

Jarrett Guarantano wasn’t perfect, especially early on in the game. But it’s hard not to give him an “A” when he totaled 400-plus passing yards and was a big reason the Vols were able to get another SEC road victory. The redshirt junior had a career day and did something only Peyton Manning and Tyler Bray have done at UT, and that’s throw for 400 or more yards in a game. Guarantano got a lot of help from his receivers and offensive line, but he himself was plenty impressive, and he even ran a few times and extended some plays with his legs. He tossed two touchdowns and didn’t turn the ball over, which is even more important than his 415 passing yards.

Ben: B+

Jarrett Guarantano played really well on Saturday night against a very good Missouri secondary that led the SEC in passing yards allowed entering the game. Guarantano was just the second opposing quarterback this season to throw for over 300 yards against the Tigers. Not only did he throw for over 300 yards, but he threw for 415 yards and two touchdowns. Most importantly, he didn’t turn the football over.
