Tennessee started the 2019 season with a 1-4 record. All hope of postseason play seemed lost, and most thought the Vols were in store for another historically bad season.
Instead, UT didn’t let the adversity sink their ship, and now Tennessee is going bowling.
The Vols defeated Missouri 24-20 on the road on Saturday night to improve to 6-5 and earn enough wins to get to a bowl game. Tennessee has now won four-straight games, and they’re winners of five of their last six contests.
For the first time since 2016, Tennessee will be playing after the regular season ends. And UT’s players celebrated that achievement on Saturday.
The official Tennessee football Twitter account posted video on Saturday night of several Tennessee players celebrating both on the field and in the locker room after the Vols’ 24-20 win over Missouri. UT’s players celebrated both the victory and the fact that the Vols will be going to their first bowl game in three years.
