The Vols’ offensive line was pretty beat up, and Wanya Morris had a rough start, but the line really settled in and played well down the stretch. Tennessee didn’t do a great job blocking in the run game, but like I said in the running back section, Jim Chaney also just didn’t call many runs. The line did a fantastic job in pass protection against a pretty good front seven. It wasn’t a perfect game by the O-line, but it was solid and got the job done. Trey Smith’s 15-yard penalty was inexcusable, but that’s really the only huge gaffe from this group.

I thought for an offensive line that is banged up, Tennessee’s O-line played solid football. The biggest mistake that stands out was the unnecessary roughness call against Trey Smith. Other than that, aside from struggling to get the running game going, the offensive line did a fairly good job of keeping the quarterbacks clean against a good Kentucky defensive front. The Vols only allowed one sack.
