Henry To’o To’o made a big impact on Saturday, tipping a pass and finishing with five tackles. Darrell Taylor was consistently causing problems, and he got his 17th sack of his UT career. The Vols’ linebacking corps was an effective tag team with the defensive line in stopping UAB’s run game. The linebackers even did a decent job in pass coverage, something they’ve struggled with this season. Daniel Bituli didn’t have his usual stat-stuffing night, but it was nice to see others step up, such as Solon Page and even JJ Peterson.

Along with the defensive line, Tennessee’s linebackers held UAB to just 63 rushing yards. The Blazers averaged 2.5 yards per carry as the Vols consistently won their 1-on-1 match-up. Darrell Taylor had a sack and a tackle for a loss in the process of consistently whipping the Blazers. Henry To’o To’o had five tackles, while Solon Page tallied four.
