Considering Darnell Wright exited in the first half and Wanya Morris was out for a bit of this game as well, I thought the Vols’ offensive line played exceptionally well. Morris came back into the game, and after taking some lumps at right tackle, he settled in nicely. Tennessee allowed pressure to collapse the pocket a few times, but they never gave up a sack and did a good job of giving the quarterbacks enough time usually. With the exception of a few penalties and the inconsistency in opening holes in the run game, I thought this was still an impressive performance from this unit.

Tennessee’s offensive had yet another strong performance against a South Carolina defensive line that Jeremy Pruitt consistently claimed was the best the Vols would face this season. The quarterbacks weren’t sacked, nor were they hit often. And in the running game, Tennessee’s backs averaged 3.7 yards per carry. Not great, but good enough to complement the Vols new-look passing attack. Especially when you consider that the Vols played without both Darnell Wright and Wanya Morris at times due to injury.
