Tennessee gave up a 75-yard touchdown to start the game against South Carolina on Saturday afternoon. But after that, the Vols buckled in, and they used a dominant second half to finally end their losing streak to the Gamecocks and head coach Will Muschamp.
The Vols shut out South Carolina in the second half and scored 24 unanswered points to win 41-21 in Neyland Stadium. The victory ended a three-game winning streak over the Vols by the Gamecocks, and it marked UT’s first-ever win over Will Muschamp as a head coach.
Tennessee rode career performances by wide receiver Jauan Jennings and linebacker Daniel Bituli to get the win. Quarterbacks Jarrett Guarantano and JT Shrout both played well, and Jennings also took snaps at quarterback in the game.
The Vols dominated in all three phases of the game, and it resulted in a much-needed victory.
