Tim Jordan has been outstanding the last two weeks, and his performance against Alabama was one of the better games a Vol running back has had against the Tide in a while. Jordan had a 33-yard run and had plenty of 3-5 yard runs that ate up chunks of yards for the Vols in crucial situations. The only reason I don’t give this group a higher grade is because it was essentially Jordan and nobody else. Ty Chandler did rip off a good 25-yard run and had a critical eight-yard catch on third down for a first down, but he actually lost yards on just about all his other carries and finished with four attempts for 23 yards. Eric Gray played minimally.

As a team, Tennessee rushed for 3.1 yards per carry, but the Vols trio of running backs rushed for 5.4 yards per carry. When was the last time UT did that to Alabama? Tim Jordan was terrific, rushing for 94 yards on 17 carries, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Ty Chandler averaged 5.8 yards per carry and Eric Gray averaged 4.0 yards on three carries.
