Tennessee can finally fill out the win column in SEC play.
The Vols (2-4, 1-2 SEC) picked up their first conference victory of 2019 on Saturday, handing Mississippi State (3-3, 1-2 SEC) a 20-10 loss in Neyland Stadium. Tennessee’s defense forced three turnovers and totaled seven sacks and 10 tackles for loss on the afternoon. Despite starting quarterback Brian Maurer suffering a concussion in the second quarter, UT’s offense did enough and was managed well enough by Jarrett Guarantano to seal the win.
