For the first time since 1988, Tennessee has started a football season with an 0-2 record.

The Vols fell in double-overtime to BYU on Saturday night by a score of 29-26. Tennessee led 13-3 at halftime and had a 16-13 lead with less than 30 seconds to go in the game.

But BYU found a miracle thanks to a poor defensive play by Tennessee.

The Cougars’ quarterback, Zach Wilson, connected with Micah Simon for a 64-yard gain to put BYU deep in UT territory with a handful of seconds left on the clock. Simon broke free from Alontae Taylor after Taylor failed to track him, and then Theo Jackson missed an open-field tackle as Simon sprinted deeper into Tennessee territory.

In overtime, BYU scored touchdowns on both of their possessions while the Vols managed only one touchdown and a field goal.

After the game, some of Tennessee’s players met with the media to discuss the loss. You can hear everything they had to say in our videos below.
