Jauan Jennings gets an A+ on his own, but the rest of the pass catchers just really didn’t stand out to me. Josh Palmer was open on a deep route, and I think Guarantano slightly overthrew him, but I also think Palmer didn’t give the correct amount effort the entire play. Marquez Callaway has yet to really do much this season and has been bottled up. He has to make a difference and show off that 4.4-second speed he’s supposed to have. Dominick Wood-Anderson and the tight ends did a better job blocking than they have in the past, but they were virtually non-existent in the pass game. Jacquez Jones had a nice gain on a reverse and showed off some speed.

Ben: B+

Off the top of my head, I don’t recall this group dropping any passes, which is the most important part of the position. Jauan Jennings was once again tremendous, catching four passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Palmer also had four catches, and Callaway had three.

As for the tight ends, their job in this offense is that they are a run-blocking tight end first, pass-catcher second.  Based off watching the game live, I thought it was the best the tight ends have blocked in the run game since Jeremy Pruitt arrived.

  1. I’ll always have your backs Vols, just promise to work harder. The players look really fatigued out there. Please work harder getting in better shape. We’ve all heard that games are won or lost in fourth quarters.
