Unlike last week, I’m not saying this loss is an “F” because BYU was also really good at times and did things that showed they’re better than the 30-12 loss they sustained last week at the hands of Utah. But overall, I still think this game was lost by Tennessee rather than won by BYU. The Vols simply cannot continue to execute like this and hope to beat any other teams on their schedule aside from UTC. There are far too many mental mistakes still being made, and it’s not just from younger players.

The effort and “want to” was much better in this game. Apparently Tennessee just isn’t a good team. This was a game the Vols should’ve won and put away multiple times, but they didn’t. Give BYU a lot of credit for that, but most of the blame still falls on Tennessee.

Tennessee played much cleaner and much harder against BYU. But when you start the season 0-2 for the first time since 1988, you get an ‘F.’ Tennessee has dug itself a deep, deep hole. I have no idea how the Vols will climb out, but they have to. Or they’ll start the season 1-7

The Vols should have beat BYU. It’s as simple as that.

  1. I’ll always have your backs Vols, just promise to work harder. The players look really fatigued out there. Please work harder getting in better shape. We’ve all heard that games are won or lost in fourth quarters.
