Overall, the only unit that wasn’t a disappointment in some way to me was Tennessee’s pass catchers. Jauan Jennings and Marquez Callaway were superb in a number of areas, and I liked what I saw from Dominick Wood-Anderson. In Saturday’s game, he finished with over half the amount of receiving yards he totaled in the entire 2018 season, catching three passes for 79 yards. Ramel Keyton did a great job showing off some vision and toughness on his reverse carry, and there were only a few lapses from the pass catchers that made Guarantano look bad. Otherwise, the incompletions were usually inaccurate passes or passes that got tipped.

I thought the wide receivers had a pretty good outing. They didn’t really contribute to Tennessee losing, as the group was affected by others within the offense performing poorly. Jauan Jennings was impressive, catching seven passes for 108 yards and a touchdown. Marquez Callaway had a nice touchdown catch on a jump-ball, and when targeted, Dominick Wood-Anderson impressed. The tight end finished with three catches for 79 yards.

  1. As a kid I growing up in Tennessee, I watched Johnny Majors coaching the Vols. From there the only highlights was Peyton Manning, who never won a championship, and T. Martin who was a one hit wonder.
