Tyus Fields, DB
While it’s certainly possible that Tyus Fields could pick up more momentum in practices during the season, the Vols likely won’t need him to contribute a ton as a true freshman unless there are injuries or if he just forces the coaches to play him with his superb performances in practice.
The freshman defensive back has garnered some praise in the last bit of the preseason, but with Nigel Warrior, Trevon Flowers, and Theo Jackson all ahead of him at safety and likely Cheyenne Labruzza as well, his playing time could be minimal this season.
Field is the type of player who can really make some plays on special teams, so that could get him on the field more and end any chance of him earning a redshirt. But if not, then expect to see him in four games and maintain his redshirt.
