When fans were looking for a potential diamond in the rough in Tennessee’s 2019 signing class, Chris Akporoghene was a popular choice. But nagging injuries are likely to keep him out of action much in his freshman campaign.
Akporoghene has been sidelined with minor issues this fall, and he wasn’t listed on UT’s offensive line depth chart. The former Kings Academy standout who transferred to IMG Academy has the work ethic and attitude to fit right in with the current Tennessee culture, but with more experienced players ahead of him and his inability to practice the way he wants right now, it looks like 2019 will be a redshirt year for the 6-foot-3, 295-pound lineman from Nigeria.
