Tight End
TE1: Dominick Wood-Anderson, Jacob Warren/Jackson Lowe
TE2: Austin Pope/Andrew Craig, Princeton Fant
Not much has changed with Tennessee’s tight ends since the beginning of fall camp. Dominick Wood-Anderson is still the undoubted starter, and the depth behind him is still a mystery.
Austin Pope hasn’t done much to separate himself during camp, and walk-on Andrew Craig looks to be in line for snaps as the No. 2 tight end as of right now. Princeton Fant is an option as a blocking TE in jumbo sets and at the goal line.
One thing to keep an eye on is if Jacob Warren can earn some playing time. The redshirt freshman from Farragut has added some much-needed weight and strength, and while he’s still not the size he needs to be, he looks like a mismatch waiting to happen with his 6-foot-6 frame and ability to catch the ball. He could be used in certain packages as another threat in the passing game.
Jackson Lowe has a chance to contribute as a true freshman, and his role could grow as the season goes along. Sean Brown, another true freshman, could as well.
