Running Back
RB1: Ty Chandler, Tim Jordan
RB2: Jeremy Banks, Carlin Fils-aime, Eric Gray
Ty Chandler should be Tennessee’s lead back heading into fall camp, and Tim Jordan is likely the second back and will split carries with him. But don’t set Jordan in stone as that second option just yet.
If Jeremy Banks or Eric Gray can show out in fall camp, they both have a chance of overtaking Jordan for playing time. Banks is a bruiser and gives UT a big bodied back that they otherwise don’t have, and Gray is potentially Tennessee’s best play-maker at the position. He didn’t get to participate in the spring due to surgery he had in the winter, so he may not come on till later. But he has speed, shiftiness, and versatility.
Carlin Fils-aime could be a gadget player for Jim Chaney in his offense, but don’t discount him fighting for playing time as a true running back, either.
