Offensive Line
OT: Marcus Tatum, Wanya Morris, Jahmir Johnson, Darnell Wright, Nathan Niehaus
OG: Ryan Johnson, Jahmir Johnson, K’Rojhn Calbert, Jerome Carvin, Trey Smith
C: Brandon Kennedy, Ryan Johnson, Jerome Carvin
The only reason Trey Smith is listed so far down the depth chart right now is because of his health concerns. If he’s cleared to practice and be a full-go, then he’s likely going to start at one of UT’s guard spots. And barring any setbacks from his recovery, Brandon Kennedy will start at center.
But the other three spots are very much up for grabs.
Veteran Marcus Tatum will look to fight off true freshmen Wanya Morris and Darnell Wright for one of the two tackle spots. It looks like one of Tennessee’s tackle spots will be manned by a true freshman at the start of the season, but Nathan Niehaus is a potential spoiler there, as well as Jahmir Johnson.
Johnson is a potential starter at guard, too, as is Ryan Johnson or K’Rojhn Calbert. Jerome Carvin started as a true freshman last year and should fight for a starting role or at least a place in the two-deep.
