It feels a little bit like the 1990s again on the campus of the University of Tennessee. At least it does with two of the biggest sports on campus.
Back in 1998, Tee Martin quarterbacked the Vols to an undefeated season and the first-ever BCS National Championship. Meanwhile on the hardcourt, Kellie Jolly was helping the Lady Vols compete and win national titles as well.
Now, the two are back on campus together.
This past offseason, both Martin and Kellie (now Harper) were hired to coach at UT. Tennessee head football coach Jeremy Pruitt brought in Martin to serve as his wide receivers coach as well as his assistant head coach and passing game coordinator. Harper, meanwhile, was hired to serve as the next head coach of the Lady Vols, two decades after her playing days with the team ended.
Both Martin and Harper played at UT at the same time. Now, they’re coaching on campus at the same time.
The official Lady Vols basketball Twitter account posted a video of Martin and Harper hanging out and reminiscing over their time on campus in the late 90s. There’s also a little singing involved.
