Tennessee’s lone 2020 commit right now is four-star small forward Corey Walker. The reason he’s included on this list is because the Vols will still likely have to fend off teams until he signs, and that includes the likes of Florida and others. Walker committed to Tennessee back on March 3rd of this after shortly after taking his second visit to Knoxville in a month’s time.

But Walker may not be the only small forward prospect that Tennessee tries to sign.

Josh Hall is one of the fastest-rising names in the 2020 recruiting class, and it seems like Tennessee won’t end up being able to get enough traction with him. The Vols offered him a little over a month ago, but he’ll have his pick of the litter among schools. Kansas, Texas, Florida, Cincinnati, and others have all offered him.

Samson Ruzhentsev plays for the prestigious Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, and the Vols have kept an eye on him for quite some time. He’s recently climbed up the recruiting rankings, going from a three-star prospect close to 200s in rankings to a borderline top-100 player.

Tennessee has ties to Hamilton Heights and has recruited there previously. Arizona State transfer Uros Plavsic played there, and UT was interested in Jason Jitoboh from that program in the 2019 class.

Ruzhentsev’s recruitment over the next few months will be interesting to monitor. If Tennessee has room, there’s a decent chance they try and add him to their 2020 class.
