I thought the Vols’ pass catchers were the best unit on offense by far on Saturday. Jauan Jennings looked healthy, Marquez Callaway was great, Josh Palmer looked like he’d taken even more steps forward, and Dominic Wood-Anderson flashed a lot of skill. We even say Tyler Byrd make some plays, as well as Jordan Murphy. Didn’t really notice any significant drops from any of the receivers, either. The reason there’s a minus on this grade is because of freshman Jackson Lowe’s fumble in the second half. He can’t let that kind of mistake happen if he sees the field this fall.

The wide receivers did exactly what they needed to do in the spring game – not drop any passes. Josh Palmer, Jauan Jennings and Marquez Callaway all looked how we expected them to and showed signs of potentially being one of the better trios in the SEC. Palmer had three catches for 25 yards and a nice touchdown reception in the back of the end zone. Jennings looked impressive as well, catching five passes for 57 yards and two touchdowns. Callaway added two catches for 61 yards. Even Jacquez Jones and Tyler Byrd made some nice plays.

As for the tight ends, Dominick Wood-Anderson and Jackson Lowe both had a strong outing. Wood-Anderson had four catches for 19 yards and a touchdown. It’s clear the senior tight end will be a focal point in the offense this season. As for the early enroll, Lowe had three catches for 60-yards but fumbled as he was scrambling down the sideline.
