Kim Mulkey
Head Coaching Record:
Baylor head coach (2000-present): 570-99
Pros:
There haven’t been many head coaches in women’s basketball who have achieved greater success over the last 15 years than Kim Mulkey. As Baylor’s head coach, she’s won two national titles and has taken the Lady Bears to three Final Fours and eight Elite Eights. Her Baylor squads have eclipsed the 30-win mark 10 times in her 19 years as a head coach, and she led Baylor to an undefeated 40-0 season in 2011-12. Baylor hasn’t lost a conference game since 2017, and she’s developed the Lady Bears into a national power in women’s basketball.
Cons:
It seems highly unlikely that Mulkey would leave the program she’s built up at Baylor to come coach at Tennessee. While the Lady Vols are the original national power in women’s basketball and is still one of the two most storied programs in the sport, Mulkey has developed her own culture and program at Baylor. She’s taken them to national prominence in a short time, and while she would be one of the most likely candidates to have success and take the Lady Vols back to their elite level, there’s a very small chance she leaves Baylor.

She is a good coach. She did not have a good many players who could make enough shots against good teams. Possibly rebounding could have been stronger. Making the shots was the deal. Coach couldn’t shoot em in herself. Of course there is defense and I didn’t see them play enough to comment.
UConn and Tennesee will revive their competition in the near future which will be a good thing raising rafters like the old days!
I think the next Tennessee Vol Coach should be Kara Lawson or Candace Parker. GREAT ATHELETES!
