Dean Lockwood
Coaching Record:
Northwood University head coach (1991-97): 68-96
Saginaw Valley State University head coach (1998-2004): 64-95
Lady Vols assistant coach (2004-present)
Pros:
Dean Lockwood has been a fixture on Tennessee’s sidelines for 15 years. He served as an assistant under Pat Summit and stayed on staff when Holly Warlick took over. He knows what it means to be part of the Lady Vol program, and he’s helped the Lady Vols win two national titles and a myriad of SEC titles. He also has head coaching experience on his resume, coaching at Northwind University and Saginaw Valley State for a combined 11 years.
Cons:
It’s likely Tennessee is trying to go in a completely different direction and part ways with the Holly Warlick era. While Lockwood transcends the Warlick era, turning to him would seem like settling for UT. Plus, his head coaching experience is only at smaller schools, and he didn’t have a great run at either school he coached at.

She is a good coach. She did not have a good many players who could make enough shots against good teams. Possibly rebounding could have been stronger. Making the shots was the deal. Coach couldn’t shoot em in herself. Of course there is defense and I didn’t see them play enough to comment.
UConn and Tennesee will revive their competition in the near future which will be a good thing raising rafters like the old days!
I think the next Tennessee Vol Coach should be Kara Lawson or Candace Parker. GREAT ATHELETES!
