No. 7 Tennessee got revenge on No. 4 Kentucky on Saturday afternoon in Thompson-Boling Arena, dismantling the Wildcats by a score of 71-52. The Vols held Kentucky to their lowest scoring total in six years, and it marked Tennessee’s largest margin of victory over the Wildcats since 2013.
After the game, both teams’ head coaches spoke to the media about what happened on Saturday.
Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes didn’t talk to the media quite as long as usual because his voice was almost gone. According to Barnes, his voice started to go on him a couple days ago and got worse on Saturday. Despite the raspy voice, he discussed his team’s physicality against Kentucky, their defensive effort, the growth of Jordan Bone, and more.

On other side of the outcome, Kentucky head coach John Calipari was less than pleased after his team’s 19-points loss on the road.
Calipari talked about why the absence of injured forward Reid Travis wasn’t an excuse for the poor play, what caused the big difference between the two meetings, where Kentucky goes from here, and more.
