Tennessee’s men’s basketball team ended their three-game losing streak in Gainesville on Saturday with a come-from-behind 78-67 victory over the Gators. And Tennessee’s players trolled Florida afterwards.
All five of the Vols on the court after the buzzer sounded to end the game started to do Florida’s “Gator Chomp” toward the crowd. Junior forward Grant Williams was the most emphatic, and the ESPN cameras zoomed in on him at the end of the Vols’ antics.

No. 3 Tennessee (14-1, 3-0 SEC) battled back after Florida (9-6, 1-2 SEC) led for most of the first half and held a 38-35 lead at halftime. That marked the first time all season the Vols had trailed at the half. The Gators led by as much as seven in the first half and led for parts of the second half as well.
The Vols grabbed a two-point lead after a Jordan Bowden dunk with 5:36 to go in the game, and they would never give the lead back to Florida after that point. Tennessee ended up pulling away late to close out the game, and they won by 11 points. The Vols have now won all three SEC games they’ve played by double digits.
Grant Williams led the Vols with 20 points and added nine rebounds and four assists. Jordan Bowden had another solid game off the bench and at one point scored 12-straight points for Tennessee late in the second half. He finished with 17 points in 29 minutes. Admiral Schofield added 14 points and eight rebounds in 25 minutes and was limited because of foul trouble.
Tennessee will return to Knoxville and host Arkansas on Tuesday, January 15th. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM Eastern.
