No. 3 Tennessee is in the midst of a historic start to its season, but on Saturday when it squares off with Wake Forest, the Vols will pay tribute to its tradition.
Earlier this season, Tennessee debuted throwback alternate uniforms when they faced off against Louisville in the NIT Season Tip-Off in Brooklyn, New York. The Vols will wear those same threads against the Demon Deacons tomorrow at noon when they play in Thompson-Boling Arena.

The throwback uniforms pay homage to the Tennessee hoops teams from the 1970s through the 1980s. Serving as an alternate uniform this season, Tennessee is branding the new threads as “Old School/New Heights.”
These jerseys appeared most notably during the end of Ray Mears’ tenure as head coach. Tennessee wore similar jerseys when it won SEC titles during the 1971-72, 1976-77, 1978-79 and 1981-82 season.

When the Vols last wore these uniforms against Louisville over Thanksgiving break, Tennessee won 92-81. In that game, Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield scored 24 and 20 points, respectively. Williams added nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals while Schofield added six rebounds, four assists and a block.
Tennessee will be looking to improve to 10-1 in game No. 11 against Wake Forest on Saturday. The Demon Deacons are 6-3 on the season and have won back-to-back games against Charlotte and Davidson. Tip-off is set for noon Eastern, and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
