Though he’s been committed to Baylor for months, the Vols have been in Jaylen Ellis’ ear ever since they offered him back in late May. And he’s been listening.

Ellis is a blazing fast receiver out of Texas who really blew up in late spring and over the summer. He’s stayed committed to Baylor despite all the attention, but it’s clear he’s very primed for a flip if Tennessee (or another school) can get him to pull the trigger. He took official visits to Michigan, Arizona, and Baylor, but he used his final one to visit Knoxville for the first time this past weekend.

He, just like Haselwood, is expected to announce his college decision on January 5th during the All-American Bowl Game.

Ellis has been timed running a 4.39-second 40-yard dash, and he set a personal record in track with a 10.44-second 100-meter dash. He’s quick, explosive, and has a solid football IQ as well.

The 6-foot, 187-pound receiver recently received his fourth star on 247Sports and was bumped up to the No. 269 overall player and No. 34 receiver in the 2019 class.
