7. Nick Figueroa, JUCO DL
The Vols are hoping to get as much help in their front seven as possible, and they’re looking to add as many instant impact players as they can in that unit. UT already has three junior college defenders committed to them in this cycle, and they’re looking to add another with three-star JUCO defensive lineman Nick Figueroa.
Tennessee extended an offer to Figueroa at the end of October, and they’ve remained in contact with the JUCO prospect out of California ever since. Figueroa has added offers from USC, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and other since Tennessee offered him, and he already had offers from UCLA and Cal among others when UT offered him.
Figueroa doesn’t have a preference of staying on the west coast vs. playing out east, but most of his top schools are programs out west closer to where he lives. Tennessee did, however, get his last visit before he makes his decision in the early signing period.
Right now, the 6-foot-5, 270-pound lineman is rated as the No. 21 overall JUCO prospect and the No. 1 JUCO strong-side defensive end per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
