Quick Bio: Bryan McClendon has SEC experience in spades. He served on Georgia’s staff for nearly a decade before he was hired as the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach for South Carolina in 2016. He was promoted to their main OC position prior to this season, and the Gamecocks’ offense had success this year.

Pros: Not only does McClendon have a ton of SEC experience and has called plays in the SEC East, but he and Pruitt coached together at Georgia when Pruitt was there in 2014 and 2015. McClendon was the associate head coach, receivers coach, and recruiting coordinator in 2015 and was the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator in 2014. McClendon was even made the interim head coach for Georgia’s bowl game in 2015.

Cons: South Carolina’s offense has had some success, but they haven’t exactly lit the world on fire either. They were very turnover-prone this past season, and they struggled the most when they faced better defenses. Plus, he only has a few years of actual play-calling experience.
