If the new redshirt rule had been in place prior to the 2017 season, Kivon Bennett would’ve been able to redshirt last year. As a true freshman, Bennett appeared in just four games and didn’t play a ton of snaps in those appearances.

This year, Bennett once again appeared in four games, but this time he can redshirt as a sophomore. Bennett made appearances in UT’s games against West Virginia, Alabama, Kentucky, and Missouri. He totaled a tackle against both Kentucky and Missouri.
