Secondary

If it wasn’t UT’s linebackers missing tackles and leaving Vanderbilt’s players wide open, is was the Vols’ secondary. Once again, I don’t even feel like talking about this unit. They were pitiful against another experienced quarterback.

Kyle Shurmur added to his persona that he’s a “Vol Killer,” throwing for 367 yards and three touchdowns on 31-of-35 passing. The secondary had a miserable day, as it has all November, leaving Commodore receivers wide open play after play. Jared Pinkney and Kalija Lipscomb have been Shurmur’s favorite targets this season, but the senior quarterback connected with nine different receivers on Saturday.
