I don’t put a ton of blame on Jeremy Pruitt for this loss, but this was really the first loss this season where I pointed to him and thought he deserved to shoulder a decent amount of the blame. But man, that offensive play-calling was atrocious. That alone warrants a failing grade, and when you throw in everything else, it justifies the coaching staff getting an “F” on Saturday.

I still firmly believe Jeremy Pruitt is going to be a good coach in the long run. And I do believe Saturday’s game was more indicative of the roster situation than Pruitt, but Derek Mason and Vanderbilt’s coaching staff coached circles around Tennessee, particularly on offense. The game plan and play-calling was poor on the offensive side of the ball and as a result, Pruitt now faces a decision on what to do with the offensive coordinator position.
