Secondary
Nathanael: F
Because Drew Lock had all day to throw, Tennessee’s secondary got carved up by the Tigers’ talented group of pass catchers. There were a few good plays from the unit, but they were sprinkled between a lot of busts and simply just getting beat by faster athletes on the other side of the ball. The Vols got lucky that Missouri’s receivers dropped a few wide open passes, or the Tigers’ numbers would’ve been even gaudier.

With the front-seven failing to produce any pressure, the secondary was left on an island and had a rough outing in coverage. Lock threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns on 21-of-30 passing, but in reality, he should have had well over 300 yards with four touchdowns if it weren’t for his receivers dropping two passes in which they had Tennessee corners beat.
