Ty Chandler had a great 33-yard run and was the most effective back on the day, but even he didn’t have a great overall performance. He scored both of Tennessee’s touchdowns, and his first one was particularly impressive as he carried a defender into the end zone with him. But more often than not, he was bottled up. Carlin Fils-aime had a costly fumble that was returned for a touchdown, and Tim Jordan had absolutely no effect in the game. The Vols’ running backs weren’t used in the passing game, and they weren’t particularly great in blocking either.

This grade is primarily for Ty Chandler, who rushed for two touchdowns and 82 yards on 14 carries. Chandler had several nice runs on the day, including a long of 33 yards. The biggest blemish of the day came when Carlin Fils-Aime fumbled on a jet-sweep, essentially eliminating the Vols’ chances of coming back and winning. Tim Jordan couldn’t get going on the day, rushing for just 18 yards on six carries.
