Daniel Bituli was all over the field on Saturday and totaled a season-high 13 tackles and got a tackle for loss as well. Darrin Kirkland Jr. and Darrell Taylor both got tackles for loss, and Kirkland also broke up a pass. Will Ignont got a quarterback hurry to go along with four tackles. The linebackers and defensive line tag-teamed to hold Charlotte to 2.5 yards per carry on 37 attempts, and the linebackers did an okay job in pass coverage. They could’ve done better, though, and that’s why I hold off from giving them a better grade.

The linebackers had a fairly nice outing. At the end of the day, the defense wasn’t why Tennessee only beat Charlotte by a score of 14-3. Daniel Bituli had a season-high 13 tackles on the afternoon, helping hold Charlotte to just 92 rushing yards. Bituli, Darrell Taylor, and Darrin Kirkland Jr. all registered a tackle for a loss.
