I honestly thought the Vols’ running backs were the best unit in the entire game on Saturday, and they weren’t utilized enough. Ty Chandler got 18 touches (11 carries, seven catches), but I would’ve liked to see him get more carries. The same goes for Tim Jordan, too. I thought this was Jordan’s best game since Week 1 against West Virginia. He looked efficient, fought for extra yards correctly, and was a strong runner. He gained 62 yards on just 12 carries. He also had four catches for 29 yards, but I would’ve given Chandler and Jordan both more overall touches than they received. Carlin Fils-aime made his presence felt in his return to the offensive side of the ball, scoring on a 14-yard run and totaling 20 yards on three attempts.

I thought the running backs played really well. Tim Jordan ran with toughness and broke multiple tackles on the night, rushing for 62 yards on 12 carries. While Jordan averaged over five yards a carry, Ty Chandler averaged just under five yards a carry. Chandler was used multiple ways within the offense, tallying 18 touches on the night. He was efficient both through the air and on the ground. Even Carlin Fils-Aime looked good in his return to running back, rushing for a touchdown. Fils-Aime showed great acceleration and speed.
