Alabama’s front seven isn’t quite as good as Auburn’s, but Tennessee managed to look worse against the Tide’s front seven than they did against the Tigers last week. Alabama got three sacks and could’ve had a lot more if Guarantano or Chryst had held the ball just a split second longer on some throws. The line was the reason Guarantano got blasted and fumbled the ball in the first quarter, and they were a huge reason the Tide got 11 tackles for loss and held UT to just 31 rushing yards.

The offensive line was atrocious and was the cause of just about all of Tennessee’s offensive struggles. The O-line couldn’t open up any holes for the running backs, and their quarterback had to leave the game early because they couldn’t keep him clean. Tennessee’s offensive line issues against Alabama on Saturday were a microcosm of where this program currently sits. Help is on the way, though, as Pruitt is tearing it up in recruiting along the offensive line.
