Saturday’s game wasn’t a complete failure in my opinion. Alabama has done this to every team they’ve played this season, and they’ve done worse to teams that are better than Tennessee. Still, the result is unacceptable regardless. There were some positives for the Vols, however, and that keeps my overall grade from being an “F.” Alabama is just a dominant force, and Tennessee never really stood a chance in this one.

You can cuss me all you want, but I said before the game, Tennessee was going to get blown out on Saturday. I understood that there’s a reason games are played on the field and not on paper, but I also understood where Alabama is and where Tennessee is. They’re on two polar opposite ends of the spectrum. I say that to say this: the main thing I wanted to see was fight and effort from the players, and for the most part, we did. That’s why it wasn’t an “F” on Saturday. Tennessee has a long ways to go, but there were also positives to build on.
