Not only has Thompson been great at intercepting passes, but he also leads the team with three pass break-ups as well. Alontae Taylor only has one, but that’s more because quarterbacks haven’t targeted his man as often because he’s usually in great coverage.

Somewhat surprisingly, Shawn Shamburger is second on the team in passes defended. He hasn’t played a great deal this season, but he did earn the start against Auburn last weekend.

Two Tennessee defensive linemen have pass break-ups this year so far. Kyle Phillips has been credited with one, as has Alexis Johnson.
