Tennessee fought through adversity and found a way to pull off a 30-24 upset victory over No. 21 Auburn on the road on Saturday. The win ended a multitude of streaks for the Vols, and Tennessee’s players celebrated after the game like a large weight had been lifted from their shoulders.
The official Tennessee football Twitter account tweeted out a video of Vol players joyously dancing and celebrating after the Vols’ 30-24 win over the Tigers, and redshirt junior offensive lineman Drew Richmond ended the video by thanking Vol fans for showing up in Auburn and supporting the team.

The Vols’ win over the Tigers ended a six-game losing streak to Auburn that dated back to 1999, a six-game losing streak to ranked opponents dating back to 2016, an 11-game losing streak to SEC teams that started in 2016, and a 15-game losing streak to SEC West teams that dated back to 2010.
Tennessee was spurred on by three takeaways by the defense that led to 14 points for the team, and Jarrett Guarantano posted a career day, completing 21 of his 32 pass attempts for a career-high 328 yards and two scores. The offense never turned the ball over and converted 10 of their 19 third down attempts on the afternoon.
The Vols picked up Jeremy Pruitt’s first SEC victory of his career as a head coach, and it also marked his first victory over a ranked team as a head coach.
