Running Backs

Tim Jordan had a night to forget on Saturday, and the rest of Tennessee’s running backs didn’t have great nights either. Jeremy Banks and Madre London did get touchdowns, but it was after the game had gotten out of hand. Ty Chandler looked okay, but it was clear that the offensive line did him little to no favors. Credit to the coaching staff for realizing Jordan wasn’t the answer in this game and only giving him nine carries total. London had 11 and ripped off a big run late, Chandler had 19, and Banks got eight.

The running backs, specifically Tim Jordan and Ty Chandler, didn’t look their normal selves. Similar to quarterback, I don’t know if there is a running back in the country that could have looked good last night behind Tennessee’s offensive line. The group rushed for 156 yards on 52 carries. 156 rushing yards is nice, but it took far too many carries to reach that point. Madre London had a nice game, rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, while Chandler rushed for 66 yards on 19 carries. Jordan had his worst outing of the season, running for five yards on nine carries. Jeremy Banks added a touchdown.
