After defeating ETSU by 56 points in their home opener last week, Tennessee hosts another bottom feeder in Neyland Stadium this weekend.
The Vols (1-1) will play UTEP (0-2) this Saturday, and the game will serve as Tennessee’s final match-up before they take on Florida next weekend. The Miners enter Saturday’s contest on a 14-game losing streak after losing all 12 games last season and the first two games of this season. Tennessee got back into the win column last weekend by defeating ETSU, ending a four-game skid that dated back to last season.
UTEP is led by junior quarterback Kai Locksley. Though he’s yet to throw a touchdown for the Miners, he’s run for two and has totaled 169 rushing yards on 38 carries. He leads the team in both passing and rushing this season.
Tennessee should be able to have their way with UTEP on Saturday, and the game should serve as a tuneup for UT’s upcoming SEC schedule.
