John Mincey, DL
Next up behind Kingston Harris on the Vols’ defensive line rotation is likely true freshman John Mincey. Though he’s not nearly as big as Harris at just 6-foot-3, 264 pounds, Mincey still has plenty of good size and could be someone Tennessee’s coaches develop to spell Kyle Phillips at defensive end.
Mincey looked good during fall camp, but just like with most of Tennessee’s younger players, consistency was his main drawback. But the Vols need to develop as many players on the line as they can as they head into SEC play, and Mincey needs to get as many game reps as possible. Expect to see him rotated in quite a bit over the next two games.
