After opening up their 2018 season with a top-25 team, the Vols’ next two opponents should be much easier. Tennessee will host ETSU and UTEP before taking on Florida on September 22nd, giving them a couple weeks to work out some kinks and get some inexperienced players some game action.
Many of Tennessee’s older players didn’t have great performances in the Vols’ season opener against West Virginia. Whether that was more because of a bad match-up with the Mountaineers or because those veterans still aren’t developed enough will be proven over the next couple weeks. But don’t expect to see those older players get as many snaps in Tennessee’s next two games as they did in Week 1.
The Vols have several younger or less experienced players who either didn’t play at all or only appeared for a handful of snaps in Week 1 who should get to see a lot more playing time over the next couple weeks. Both sides of the ball should see plenty of new faces getting plenty of reps against ETSU and UTEP.
Here are the Vol players who should see a lot more playing time in the two games leading up to Tennessee’s match-up with Florida.
