If not for Tim Jordan’s surprise emergence, the Vols’ running back unit would’ve been in big trouble on Saturday. Ty Chandler got knocked out of the game early, but he was ineffective on his four touches he got. Jordan, however, was a beast. He looked like John Kelly on Saturday with his powerful runs and inability to be tackled. But he was about the only UT running back who did much against WVU. Madre London hit the hole with some good power and Jeremy Banks made a good catch late, but Tennessee’s other running backs combined for just 19 yards on 14 carries.

For me, Tim Jordan gets an “A.” I know this is a grade that reflects the group as a whole, but Jordan was mighty impressive Saturday afternoon. Despite a lackluster performance from the offensive line, the sophomore was able to rush for a touchdown and 118 yards on 20 carries. Jordan showed great vision and toughness. It appears there won’t be a drop-off from John Kelly to Jordan. Madre London and Jeremy Banks also had some nice reps in the game. The hope now is that Ty Chandler will be back healthy for the Florida game.
