The Jeremy Pruitt era didn’t begin how he or Vol fans would’ve liked.
Tennessee fell to No. 17 West Virginia 40-14 to start off the 2018 season and the Jeremy Pruitt era on Saturday. The Vols held their own for the most part in the first half, but the Mountaineers pulled away in the second half thanks to the arm of Will Grier. The senior threw for a career-high 429 yards and five touchdowns as the Mountaineers blazed by the Vols in the second half.
As you can imagine, Vol fans had plenty to say. And so did the RTI team.
Managing editor Nathanael Rutherford and staff writer Ben McKee reacted live on Periscope after Tennessee’s season-opening loss and let Vol fans voice their thoughts. They discussed what Tennessee needs to fix on offense and defense, the positive takeaways from the game, and their thoughts on Pruitt in his first game as head coach.
