Running Back
RB: Ty Chandler/Tim Jordan, Madre London
FB/H-back: Ja’Quain Blakely, Austin Pope
As dynamic as Ty Chandler is and as great as he is in the passing game as well as the run game, Tim Jordan has continued to come along and impress this fall. Both those backs figure to split time to start the year, and Jordan looks like a better schematic fit than Chandler at this point. But Chandler is too talented to keep off the field.
Madre London will be the third back right now, and he’ll be a quality backup option for Jordan and Chandler. He’s the veteran in the group and probably the best blocker of any of UT’s running backs. True freshman Jeremy Banks will be one to watch in this group as the season goes along.
At fullback, Ja’Quain Blakely is the top guy at that spot and should see plenty of playing time this year. Austin Pope will play there and at H-back too, and he’ll see time at tight end as well. He’ll be UT’s jack of all trades player this season.
