Felton helped coach a UTC defense that finished No. 1 in the Southern Conference and No. 25 in the entire FCS in yards allowed per game (326.4) last season.
Prior to joining UTC, Felton was the head coach of Crisp County High School in Cordele, Georgia. The Cougars went 3-7 in Felton’s first year in 2015 before he helped guide them to a 13-1 record and the school’s first ever state semifinal appearance. He coached four-star defensive end and current Auburn Tiger Markaviest Bryant to All-American status as well.
Felton played football for Troy as a defensive lineman from 1999-2002.
Pruitt has made a number of moves to his staff over the last few months, with the most recent being Felton’s hiring. Before that, Pruitt also brought on a former standout defensive back from Florida State to serve as a graduate assistant, and he hired a new Director of Recruiting at the end of July
